Salisbury University students on campus

Inclusive Access Charges

Inclusive Access is a program at Salisbury University that provides students with immediate access to required digital course materials—such as e-textbooks and online learning platforms—through their courses.

Instead of purchasing textbooks separately, the cost of these materials is automatically billed to the student’s account as an Inclusive Access charge.

How Inclusive Access Works

  1. When a course uses Inclusive Access materials, students receive automatic access to the digital textbook or course platform through the university’s learning management system.
  2. Students can begin using the materials on the first day of class.
  3. The cost of the materials is added to the student’s university bill as an Inclusive Access fee.

Benefits

Inclusive Access helps ensure students have the materials they need when classes begin. Benefits include:

  • Immediate access: Course materials are available on the first day of class.
  • Lower costs: Digital materials are often offered at reduced prices compared to traditional textbooks.
  • Convenient billing: Charges are applied to the student account, allowing them to be covered by financial aid or included in tuition payments.

Opt-Out Option

Participation in Inclusive Access is optional.

Students may opt out of the program before the posted deadline if they prefer to obtain course materials another way. If a student opts out, access to the digital materials will be removed and the Inclusive Access charge will be reversed.

More information on the Opt-Out Option is avaiable on the bookstore website.
