Business Administration Minor (With 4+1 Option)

The business administration minor at Salisbury University provides general exposure to business administration. It is intended to help prepare non-business majors for employment in business organizations or to gain entrance into Master of Business Administration program.

Why Choose Business Administration at SU?

The business administration minor offers a convenient path to the M.B.A. program. Students who complete the appropriate electives within the business administration minor and meet M.B.A. program admissions standards can obtain the Perdue School M.B.A. degree in as little as one calendar year of graduate study through the program’s 4+1 option. 

At least 15 credits of coursework applied toward the minor cannot be used to satisfy General Education requirements and at least nine credits must be completed at SU. All courses applied toward the minor must be completed with grades of C or better. 

Required lower division courses include:

  • MATH 155 Modern Statistics with Computer Analysis
  • ACCT 201 Introduction to Financial Accounting
  • ECON 150 Principles of Economics

or

  • ECON 211 Principles of Microeconomics

Required upper division courses:

  • MGMT 320 Management and Organizational Behavior
  • MKTG 330 Principles of Marketing Management

Students in this minor choose three electives from the following:

  • INFO 281 Intermediate Business Statistics

or

  • MATH 201 Calculus I
  • FINA 311 Financial Management
  • INFO 326 Operations Management
  • ACCT 202 Introduction to Managerial Accounting
  • ECON 212 Principles of Macroeconomics
  • INFO 211 Information Concepts for Management

For a more in-depth experience, SU also offers business majors in accounting, business economics, finance, management, marketing and information systems. Students not majoring in one of these programs may minor in business administration. 

4+1 Option

The 4+1 program was created to allow non-business students to complete the M.B.A. foundation courses during their undergraduate careers, which entitles them to a business minor and complete the M.B.A. course requirements in as little as one calendar year after undergraduate graduation. Students in the 4+1 program should select the following courses toward the business administration minor.
