Campus Community Invited to Sea Gull Square Groundbreaking March 4

The campus community is invited to a celebratory groundbreaking for Sea Gull Square on Thursday, March 4, at 2 p.m. at the former Allenwood Shopping Center site.

The new residence hall and retail complex will be a cornerstone anchor for SU and the largest student housing facility on main campus. With more than 600 beds in apartments above a Main Street-style retail complex, Sea Gull Square will serve as a gateway to campus from the southeast along Route 13. The project’s traditional academic architecture will complement the Teacher Education and Technology Center at the northeast corner. A visual focus of Sea Gull Square will be an engaging retail courtyard with green space, a fountain and a clock tower. It is slated to open in fall 2011.

A reception follows the ceremony.
