COVID-19 Precautions Continue for Summer

Salisbury University Dining Services is committed to providing a positive dining experience. We recognize that the COVID-19 situation is changing daily. So will our preparations and plans to ensure campus safety and a high-quality dining program.

To ensure that the highest level of care is met our, current plans include:

  • Cleaning high-touch areas more frequently to protect our customers and staff;
  • Providing more hand sanitizer and wipe dispensing stations to supplement handwashing;
  • Touchless swipe-in entry to the Commons dining hall;
  • Implementing advance ordering and payment technology for retail locations and made-to-order stations at the Commons;
  • Installing wellness shields at all campus cash handling stations;
  • Reducing the risk of cross-contamination in the Commons by limiting self-service and providing more pre-portioned items; and
  • Broadening our retail menu options including grab and go and full meal solutions.
  • Plato’s Plate in the marketplace featuring vegetarian and vegan favorites
  • Enhanced Pizza station with new state of the art ovens and additional menu options
  • Relocated Roastery station with all of your Bistro and Roastery favorites
  • Remodeled deli station featuring all the old favorites with a made-to-order salad station
  • Full-service of previous self-service stations including toasting of bagels, pizza, burgers, fries, soup, ice cream and more
  • The relocated Salad Bar will be used to display pre-made salads and wrapped dessert items(Grub Hub order kiosks in the dining hall for made to order eggs/omelets, deli sandwiches, and stir-fry dishes with monitors in the rotunda that will alert you when your meal is ready without having to wait in serving areas
  • Reduced seating allowing for social distancing in all dining rooms
  • New flatware dispensers at dining room entrances; conventional re-usable silverware available upon request
  • Foot-pedal activated hand sanitizer stations conveniently located throughout dining areas


  • Students self-swipe into dining hall
  • Masks required except while eating
  • Marketplace stations will be staffed for service (not self-serve)
  • Self-order kiosks installed for most popular MTO stations (Omelets, Wok & Deli)
  • New text messaging Platform
