Online & Hybrid Learning

Instructional Design & Delivery (ID&D) provides centralized professional development and support services for faculty teaching online and hybrid courses. Our Instructional Designers and Technologists are available for confidential consultations to guide faculty through developing and delivering hybrid or online courses.

ID&D staff are also available to consult with academic program chairs and directors on the development, implementation and maintenance of satellite and online courses and programs.

Soaring with Online Learning

Soaring with Online Learning (Soaring) is a multi-week faculty development program to prepare Salisbury University faculty to design, develop and deliver courses in a fully online or hybrid environment through the campus course management system, MyClasses. Faculty apply to the program designating the course they plan to deliver as hybrid or online.

Welcome Letter Template

Per the SU Online Learning Policy, faculty are to communicate with students two weeks prior to the start of a semester with information related to the start of the course. Faculty are encouraged to send a copy of the syllabus and a welcome letter with essential information on how to get started in the course. ID&D provides a welcome letter template for faculty to modify and distribute to students using the class forum lists in email. Faculty can also work with their Instructional Designer liaison to ensure a successful start to their course.
Quality Matters

Quality Matters (QM), an internationally recognized, standards-based program, offers faculty quality assurance in online and hybrid course design with a focus on continuous improvement. Originating from a FIPSE grant in Maryland, QM is a non-profit organization offering institutional subscriptions and a range of fee-based services, including QM-managed course reviews and a variety of professional development opportunities.
