About the Henson School

Building Hours

During the fall and spring semester, Henson School buildings have the following hours:

Henson Science Hall

Monday-Friday: 6 a.m.-12:15 a.m.
Saturday-Sunday: 7 a.m.-12:15 a.m.

Devilbiss Hall

Monday-Thursday: 6 a.m.-Midnight
Friday: 6 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Henson School’s STEM@SU program offers extraordinary opportunities to students interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education at all levels.

Student Research

Henson School students are active scholars. They work with SU’s Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity to connect with research opportunities on and off campus. In addition, the STEM Summer Research Program foster a community of undergraduate research and engaged scholarship during the summer months.

Henson Scholars

Four $3,000 scholarships and 12 $2,000 Henson Scholar scholarships are awarded each year and are renewable as long as the student maintains eligibility.

Careers After SU

Henson School graduates, many of whom continue their education in graduate or professional schools, have excellent employment prospects. Our graduates typically find careers as chemists, mathematicians, physicists, biologists, computer scientists, teachers, geographers, engineers, and environmental health scientists.
