Community Advisory Board

Do you have ideas on how to improve ethics training and ethical practice? We are seeking motivated individuals from our region to serve on our Community Advisory Board! The Community Advisory Board meets regularly and provides the REACH team input on current community-facing initiatives, as well as helps steer what types of products the REACH team develops and implements in our local community. We seek a diverse array of representation across multiple sectors: government, nonprofit, business and advocacy groups. Positions on the Community Advisory Board come with a modest financial stipend.

Kevin Lindsay

Kevin Lindsay is the Director of Strategy and Alignment for the YMCA of the Chesapeake. His role with the YMCA is to lead efforts and support staff and volunteers to develop strategies that strengthen connections and diverse populations and align the regional YMCA to better reflect the communities it serves across the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He native from Prince George’s County where he attended Bishop Mc Namara High School in Upper Marlboro, MD. He is a graduate of Salisbury University with a Bachelors of Art in Interpersonal Communications and Minor in Women Gender Studies. He was a two-year player at Salisbury University, captain his senior year, and later played in Europe. Prior to Joining YMCA, he was Neighborhood Relations Manager with City of Salisbury, MD, Case Manager with Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, and has over 15 years’ experience working with emotionally disturbed children and then transitioned to Maryland Department of Juvenile services where he served as a case manager and a residential adviser. He has a strong passion for helping youth to be productive young citizens. He has been inducted into 3 Hall of Fames for Baseball, National Semi-Pro Baseball Hall of Fame, Union International Printers Baseball Hall of Fame, and Eastern Shore Baseball Hall of Fame. He lives with his wife, Leliya Lindsay, daughter Kaylianna and son Xavier.
Ron Pagano, JD

I believe that all professions subscribing to an ethical code should prohibit discrimination against the disabled, such as the American Psychological Association's Ethical Standards 3.01 and 3.03, prohibiting discrimination and harassment based upon disability.

I have been an attorney and activist in the disabled community since 1968, working on housing, education, transportation, employment and recreation. I am a Member of the Mayor's Disability Advisory Committee and served on the Mayor's Human Rights Advisory Committee. Through ENDEAVOR Disabled Advocacy, I reach out to local businesses, convincing them to remedy violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") pin lieu of legal action. I recently succeeded in reaching an agreement with Boscov's, to remedy accessibility issues. I serve on the Board of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, and have served on the Boards of PAC14, I.P.P.S. Mentoring, Inc (inmate education) and From Roots To Wings, LLC. (homeless support) and Marylanders Against Gun Violence.
Julie Peters

When I was a senior in high school, I took a very unusual and progressive class called Science & Ethics. In that class we discussed current events, historical events, and modern dilemmas… all through the lens of what was ethical and what was not. I attended many more classes after that in my college years, but few have had such a powerful impact on me. I believe I have a very strong moral compass and I strive to always do what is right rather than what is easy. As the director of communications for a nonprofit organization that serves the poorest members of our community, I am attuned to the need to communicate and act with high ethical standards. Anything less could be harmful to the people we serve.
Jaime Riley

Ms. Riley brings with her 11 years experience in the human services field. Currently, her focus is on nonprofit development, grant writing and management, strategic planning within human services, and community involvement to raise awareness of social services resources for underserved individuals and families in Wicomico County. Born and raised in Wicomico County, Ms. Riley began her career as an addictions counselor, eventually becoming a Master’s level counselor and continued through administrative functions for agencies within the county. Jaime is passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, specifically around social justice and LGBTQIA+ populations. Ms. Riley began her education locally at Wor-Wic Community College and received her Bachelor’s and Masters in Psychology from Capella University. Ms. Riley is currently working on her PhD in Developmental Psychology with an added focus in Public Health Policy and Law. She holds a certificate from Georgetown University in Addressing the Wellbeing of System Involved LGBTQIA+ Youth, and a certificate from University of Baltimore in the Maryland Equity and Inclusion Leadership Program. She resides in Salisbury with her two teenagers.
Libby Weisner

I am a fourth-generation property manager of a family-owned rental company and a licensed real estate agent. In this role I collaborate with the Christian Shelter, Diakonia, SHURA Inc, Tri-County Alliance, the City of Salisbury, and the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide housing to our unhoused and disabled neighbors. I also serve as Chair of the Rentals Taskforce for Coastal Association of Realtors and am a Member of the Legislative Committee for Maryland Association of Realtors. In recent years I served on the Vulnerable Populations Taskforce Housing Workgroup and the MAC, Inc Aging In Place Housing Taskforce, and contributed to the City of Salisbury’s Fair Chance Housing proposal and its Housing First program.

Every day I see the impact housing has on our neighbors’ lives. Ethical business practices are but the minimum standard that we should expect from the housing industry. I am pleased to serve on the REACH Community Advisory Board.
Theresa Young

I have had the privilege to sit in on a few meetings and I believe the short term and long term goals speak to the needs of our future direction. Ethics are an interesting concept to broach as we face more difficult decision making over time. I serve through my work locally and in the services of deployment on disasters throughout our country as command and control in operations. We are in constant challenge on how to handle the difficulty of equal and equitable delivery of service and then how to ensure that we have processes in place to ensure donated dollars are used in accordance with donor intent. This is the area in which I have passion.
