Since its (founding in 1999), PACE has served as a nonpartisan institute dedicated to providing students with hands-on experiences in a variety of public issues, service opportunities, public affairs research, and citizenship education. Nonprofit Leadership Alliance
SU partners with the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (NLA) to offer the Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) credential to undergraduate and graduate students from any major.

Presidential Citizen Scholars Program
The Presidential Citizen Scholars (PCS) Program is a three-semester-long experience which prepares SU students to be community leaders through civic engagement in local issues.

ShoreCorps / AmeriCorps
There are many ways for students to participate in the largest AmeriCorps program in Maryland, earn an education award, and add to your resume. You can combine AmeriCorps with your required non-profit field placement or internship, participate through campus organizations Food for the Flock or Sammy’s Stash, or find your own opportunity. If your workload allows, you can even pursue a half-time position, which includes a bi-weekly stipend.

SU Votes is the official voter registration and engagement initiative at SU that continuously yields exceptional voting rates and political engagement among students, faculty and staff.

Community Language Assistant Program
The Community Language Assistant (CLA) Program takes place weekly at Bennett Middle School where SU students serve as mentors to middle schoolers who are learning English.
