The Green Bandana Project
The Green Bandana Project (TGBP) raises mental health awareness, reduces stigma, and connects students to mental health and suicide prevention resources. Members go through a 2-hour Green Bandana orientation and QPR training course, carry resource cards, and tie a green bandana to a visible location to let others know that they are a trusted person who knows how and where to reach out for help.
A green bandana DOES mean:
- Listening without judgment
- Distributing resource cards
- Empowering students to seek help
- Fighting stigma
A green bandana does NOT mean:
- NOT mental health treatment
- NOT peer counseling
- NOT crisis intervention
- NOT suicide risk assessment
