The SSW regularly recruits diverse adjunct faculty to teach in all of our course content areas. Teaching options are available in both online and hybrid formats with opportunities at our Salisbury Campus, satellite campuses and our online MSW option. Alumni Recognition
Graduates of Salisbury University’s School of Social Work are consistently making a difference both in the profession and their communities. Each year we will recognize two alumni whose remarkable contributions stand out among their peers for excellence in the field of social work.
Nominations will be accepted until January 15th for the Distinguished Alumni Award and the Rising Professional Alumni Award. The criterion for each award is listed below. Self-nominations are accepted. Nominators are not required to be SU SSW Alumni. Two letters of recommendation, the nominee’s resume/CV, and any other supporting documentation should be attached to the nomination form.
The Alumni Advisory Committee will forward the top 2 nominees for each award will to the SSW Director for final selection. Each winner will receive a $500 award. Winners will be announced and celebrated during the annual Social Work Month Alumni Event in March.
This award recognizes BASW and MSW graduates from Salisbury University's School of Social Work. These are alumni who graduated more than ten years prior to the award year. Recipients of the award demonstrate outstanding contributions to the social work profession and the broader society.; Such contributions may include but are not limited to: direct practice with individuals, families, and/or groups; field supervision of social work students; social work education; advocacy; community organization; social policy; research; administration; and program development. These alumni possess strong leadership skills, demonstrate a high standard of professional values and ethical behavior and are innovators in their practice.
This award recognizes BASW and MSW graduates within the past ten years from Salisbury University’s School of Social Work. Recipients of the award are those alumni, who in a short period of time since degree completion, have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the social work profession and the broader society.; These alumni exemplify innovative practices, professional values and are making remarkable impacts in one or more of the following areas: direct practice, advocacy, research, administration, community organizing, social policy and program development.
