SBDC Client Assistance Center Offerings"
SALISBURY, MD-- The Small Business Development Center has opened a Client Assistance Center in the Power Professional Building at Salisbury University, as part of its mission to provide technical assistance to entrepreneurs. The CAC can be a valuable tool for business owners who want to improve profitability or efficiency, as well as individuals who are seeking to start a business.
The center houses:
A library of over 150 entrepreneurial guides that provide information on business startups, ranging from “How to Start an Advertising Agency” to “How to Start a Women’s Apparel Shop.”
Several computers linked to the Internet that can be used to work on writing a business plan or using the Internet for market research.
Census data that is available in book form and on CD-ROM, including demographic data and business-specific information.
Videotapes on such diverse topics as marketing, personnel and cash flow that can be viewed on the center’s VCR.
The SBDC also provides low-cost training seminars designed to help small businesses succeed. The costs are kept low due to the contributions of Salisbury University, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development. Other affiliated organizations include the Salisbury and Ocean City Chambers of Commerce, Wor-Wic Community College, the Service Corps of Retired Executives and the Wicomico County Agricultural Extension Agency.
