Nabb Research Center Hosts 'Salisbury' Book Signing Saturday, September 24

Salisbury TowneSALISBURY, MD---From its founding as “Salisbury Towne” in 1732 to its modern role as the “Crossroads of Delmarva,” the City of Salisbury has a rich heritage spanning more than 275 years.

Author Jason Rhodes captured many of the city’s landmarks and milestones in the pictorial history Images of America: Salisbury. He signs copies of the book from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, September 24, at the gallery of Salisbury University’s Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture, 190 Wayne St.

Released earlier this year by Arcadia Publishing, Salisbury was Rhodes’ seventh book, incorporating many images from the Nabb Research Center’s holdings. A public relations specialist at SU, he chaired the city’s 275th anniversary celebration in 2007 and is a past president of the Salisbury Jaycees. He is currently working on a pictorial history of his native Somerset County.

His signing is held in connection with the gallery’s current “Main Street Salisbury” exhibit, which also will be open during the event.

Sponsored by the Nabb Research Center, admission is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-543-6312 or visit the center’s Web site at http://nabbhistory.salisbury.edu.
