Littleton Heritage available at Nabb Research Center

SALISBURY, MD ---A meticulously-researched history of the Littleton family on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia is now available at the Edward H. Nabb Center for Delmarva History and Culture at Salisbury University.

The Littleton Heritage: Some Descendants of Colonel Nathaniel Littleton (1605-1654) of Northhampton County, Virginia and His Royal Forbears, written by Dr. Matthew Wise, is one of the most complete genealogies of the Littletons and descendant surnames. They include Bell, Denwood, Eyre, Fassitt, Gilliss, Long, Pollitt, Purnell Roach, Robins, Savage, Tazewell, Tingle, Waters, Whittington, Wilson, Winder and many others. Wise traced some of the Littleton ancestry as far back as English royalty.

Nathaniel Littleton came to Virginia in 1635 at age 30. Less than 20 years later, he died the owner of more than 5,700 acres of land in Accomack and Northampton counties.
