SU's Weer Named President of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Colleges of Business Administration
SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Christy Weer, dean of Salisbury University’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, has been named president of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Colleges of Business Administration (MAACBA).
The mission of MAACBA is to promote and improve collegiate education for business in all areas within the jurisdiction of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.
Events through MAACBA create opportunities for expertise building and knowledge sharing among attendees on topics such as accreditation, strategic planning, external relations, and curriculum innovation.
Weer earned her M.B.A. from SU in 1996. After working several years in the insurance industry and receiving her Ph.D. from Drexel University, she returned to SU as an assistant professor of management in 2009. She served three years as associate dean, starting in 2011, before becoming interim dean in 2014 and moving into her current position in 2015.
She is engaged with the community as a member of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Voting Council, the Wicomico County Tourism and Civic Center Commission, is a founding member of the Greater Salisbury Women’s Leadership Council, and serves on the Board of Visitors and Governors of her undergraduate alma mater, Washington College.
In addition, she serves on the Maryland Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Advisory Board, is on the Business Program Advisory Board for Delaware Technical Community College, is past-chair of the AACSB Women Administrators in Management Education (WAME) Steering Committee, and was the first female president of the Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development Board.
Weer is a Leadership Maryland Executive Class 2025 graduate and was named among Maryland’s Top 100 Women by The Daily Record in 2021 and 2025.
