SU's Guerrieri Academic Commons Celebrates 10 years
By SU Public Relations
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons (GAC) continues to earn national recognition as one of the premier library facilities in higher education.
Regularly cited for its innovative design, student-centered spaces and integration of technology, the GAC is routinely ranked among the nation’s top 25 college libraries by The Princeton Review. Its combination of collaborative work areas, quiet study zones, advanced research support, and digital resources reflects a modern approach to learning that meets the evolving needs of today’s students and faculty.
This year marks a significant milestone for the GAC — the 10th anniversary of the building’s opening. To celebrate, SU is hosting a birthday celebration 6 p.m. Saturday, July 11, welcoming the public to visit the building and learn more.
The evening will include a display highlighting the history and impact of the building over the past decade, as well as guided tours showcasing its unique spaces and services. Guests can enjoy birthday cake and snacks, explore an activity zone designed for all ages, and enter to win prizes throughout the evening.
Attendees are also invited to relax on the rooftop patio, which offers one of the most unique vantage points on campus, and take in a concert performed on the building’s 48-bell Brown and Church Carillon at 7 p.m.
