SU's Weer, Shifler Among Leadership Maryland Class of 2025 Graduates

SALISBURY, MD---Two Salisbury University professionals recently graduated from Leadership Maryland Class of 2025 programs.

"On behalf of our staff, board, and membership, I congratulate the Emerging Leader second class and Executive Program Class of 2025 on their incredible achievement" said David Fike ‘16 (LM), president and CEO of Leadership Maryland. 

Dr. Christy Weer, dean of SU’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, was among the 51-member Executive Program’s 32nd graduating class. 

Dr. Ryan Shifler, associate dean of SU’s Richard A. Henson School of Science and Technology, was among the 37-member second cohort of the Emerging Leader Program. 

“The graduates of both programs have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to personal and professional growth, and I am confident they will continue to drive meaningful change in their communities and across Maryland as part of our alumni network.,” said Fike.

The 2025 graduates join Leadership Maryland’s alumni network, consisting of more than 1,600 esteemed leaders from all over the state. They include Eli Modlin, SU chief of staff and vice president of public affairs and strategic initiatives, who will serve as chair of the Leadership Maryland board of directors beginning in 2026.

Ideal Leadership Maryland members are actively involved in their communities, and desire to become stronger leaders have a desire to learn more about Maryland’s most critical issues and a personal commitment to be a force for positive change in their organizations, their communities, and their state.
