Important COVID-19 Information for SU Employees

Dear SU Faculty and Staff,

As Salisbury University continues its COVID-19 precautions, please note the following:

  • SU and the Wicomico County Health Department host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for members of the campus and greater community age 5 and older 3:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, January 14, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.
  • SU will maintain its current policy regarding the timing of isolation and quarantine for those who test positive for, or may have been exposed to, the virus.
    • This includes a 14-day quarantine for unvaccinated employees and those who have not received their COVID-19 booster shot once eligible.
    • While the CDC has updated its general isolation and quarantine recommendations, the center defers to local health officials (in this case Campus Health) to determine best practices based on current factors in their areas.
    • Because university campuses, by their very nature, are congregate environments, this policy will better help SU limit the spread of COVID-19 among students and employees.
  • As SU continues its in-house contact tracing, students are reminded that those notified that they may have been exposed to COVID-19 via a close contact are required to take an SU-administered COVID-19 test on the date provided by Campus Health.
    • Those who fail to meet this requirement will lose access to campus and other SU amenities until an SU-administered COVID-19 test is taken and they are cleared by Campus Health.
  • Face masks are required in all SU buildings (and KN95 masks in all classrooms and other instructional spaces) except while in assigned residence hall rooms, alone in assigned offices, or eating or drinking in designated areas.
    • Designated eating and drinking areas at SU include the Commons dining hall and satellite dining locations with designated seating, as well as catered events.
    • Food and beverages on campus are prohibited in indoor areas except in assigned residence hall rooms and offices and in the designated dining areas listed above.

A similar message has been sent to students. Please review Friday’s COVID-19 communication for additional information.

Please stay safe, and thank you for continuing to do your part to #ProtectTheFlock.
