While the SU Libraries have long supported researchers’ data management needs with the Data Management LibGuide, our support for the use of data in research and teaching has grown exponentially thanks to our library consortium, USMAI, joining the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), an acronym that rolls right off the tongue).
Did you know that the SU Libraries offers two cash prizes ($250 each), one for freshmen/sophomores and one for juniors/seniors, for the best paper/project that demonstrates excellence in library research, mastery of the subject and strong writing skills?
By now, most faculty have heard of Open Educational Resources (OER). Some faculty have tried using OER in their classes. Some faculty have even created OER. Maybe you looked into OER a few years ago and you weren’t impressed by what was available in your discipline.
Want to keep up with the news about higher education? We have a campus license for the Chronicle of Higher Education, paid for out of the SU Libraries’ budget. You should be able to access this from on campus or off site and read the premium articles as well as everything else.
While most faculty use the SU Libraries to support their classes through assigning items from our collections or having information literacy instruction, did you know you also could take advantage of our exhibits? These can be a way to make your students think about the world around them in a different way.
