Ceremony Information

We are holding traditional, in-person seated ceremonies for May 24 and May 25.

Graduating students should arrive one hour before the ceremony begins.

• Graduates participating in the 6 p.m. ceremony on May 24 should arrive at 5 p.m.
• Morning ceremony graduates should arrive at 9 a.m. for the 10 a.m. ceremony on May 25; afternoon ceremony graduates should arrive at 1:30 p.m. for the 2:30 p.m. ceremony on May 25.

Line-up instructions for graduating students will be posted the week of May 3.

• May 24, 6 p.m. ceremony: doors open at 4:45 p.m. for guests requiring disabled seating assistance. Doors open at 5 p.m. for general admission.
• May 25, 10 a.m. ceremony: doors open at 8:45 a.m. for guests requiring disabled seating assistance. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. for general admission.
• May 25, 2:30 p.m. ceremony: doors open at 1:15 p.m. for guests requiring disabled seating assistance. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. for general admission.

We expect each ceremony to last a maximum of 2 hours. All graduating students, guests, SU faculty and staff are invited to a post-ceremony celebration in the Midway Room at the Civic Center.

Yes!  All three ceremonies will be livestreamed via the Salisbury University website. Look for the livestream link on May 24 and May 25 at www.salisbury.edu. No password is required. 

Yes, wearing the SU cap and gown for commencement is required. Details are available in the Cap and Gown Information section. Caps and gowns are available for purchase at the SU Bookstore.

Bachelor’s degree candidates earning a Latin Honors designation (Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, or Cum Laude) will receive a Latin Honors honor cord with their caps and gowns.

Our in-person event will be designed to comply with COVID-19 public health protocols and are subject to change based on campus, local and state protocols in place at the time of the events. Accordingly, the decision about a mask requirement will be made the week of May 1. 

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is not required.

Diplomas will be mailed to the “diploma address” indicated in your GullNet account approximately 8 weeks following the conclusion of the semester in which you complete your degree.
