Tie Dye 5K Run for Radio to Benefit Delmarva Public Radio April 1

Tie Dye RunSALISBURY, MD---Online registration is open for the second annual Delmarva Public Radio (DPR) Tie Dye 5K Run for Radio, scheduled Saturday, April 1, at the Gordons Pond Trail and Beach Pavilion at Cape Henlopen State Park in Rehoboth Beach, DE.

Day-of registration begins at 3:30 p.m., followed by the race at 4:30 p.m. An after-race party for runners and guests starts around 5:30 p.m.

Proceeds benefit DPR, which includes WSCL 89.5 FM and WSDL 90.7 FM, the listener-supported public radio stations at Salisbury University. DPR’s programming also is available via online streaming at www.delmarvapublicradio.net.

Advance registration, available at www.races2run.com/events/tie-dye-5k-for-radio until noon Thursday, March 30, is $25. On-site registration, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 1, is $30. Guest entry fees are $15 before March 30, $20 after. Entry fees include admission to the race post-party, featuring beer, wine and refreshments, as well as live music by Eastern Electric.

Awards will be presented for the top overall male and female runners, top overall male and female masters runners, top three male and female runners in 10-year age groups (from 13 and under through 70 and older), and top two male and female walkers. The best dressed team earns the Tie Dye Cup. The largest team receives the Delmarva Public Radio Cup. Both cups include a happy hour for team members.

The first 350 registrants receive an event T-shirt. All participants receive tickets for two drinks and three food samples at the post-race party. Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase. Registrations are non-transferable.

Race results will be posted on the event website in real time. Photos will be posted following the race. Baby strollers are allowed during the walking portion of the event only. Due to insurance liability, no dogs are allowed.
