SU Celebrates 'Taking Excellence to New Heights'

Taking Excellence to New HeightsThe campus community is cordially invited to Salisbury University’s celebration of “Taking Excellence to New Heights” on Friday, February 3.

Marking the conclusion of the highly successful Campaign 2012, the festive event is 5:30–7:30 p.m. in the Perdue Hall Atrium.  Faculty, staff, students, alumni and other University friends are welcome.

The Salisbury University Foundation, Inc. announced Campaign 2012 at the campus’ 80th Anniversary Gala in June 2006.  The initial goal was $25 million. Unparalleled support led that total to be raised — twice. Final numbers will be announced at the celebration.

The event includes remarks from SU Foundation Board Chair Charlie Capute, Campaign Chair Henry Hanna and SU President Janet Dudley-Eshbach. SU alumna Megan Centineo will perform.

The priorities of the campaign were based on the needs of the University, as articulated in its strategic plan and facilities master plan and strategic plan. They included fundraising for scholarships and faculty development, academic programs and facilities (including the Teacher Education and Technology Center and Perdue Hall), library enhancements, fine and performing arts, Sea Gull Athletics, and campus improvements and outreach.

Over the past six years, the Campaign Team has been led by Henry Hanna and has included past SU President Norman Crawford; alumni Niel Carey, Bruce Cort, Rick Givens, Amy Tilghman Miller, Jim Perdue, Bruce Rogers, Michael Scarborough and Beth Sarbanes Sheller; and Ed Thomas and Dr. Irving Shen.

In 2008, SU was honored by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education with a CASE-WealthEngine Award for Overall Improvement of its superior fundraising programs.

Event attire is business casual. For more information, call 410-543-6175.
