SGA Cosponsors Salisbury Bike partY Apr. 22

Salisbury Bike Party LogoSALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Student Government Association cosponsors the inaugural Salisbury Bike partY on Saturday, April 22.

Events begin with a six-mile fun ride starting 11 a.m. at the Wicomico Public Library in downtown Salisbury. Stops include SU and City Park. Free registration opens at 10:30 a.m. Cyclists are encouraged to be creative, incorporating costumes, bike decorations and music into the ride. The Evolution Craft Brewing Co. awards prizes.

Riders return downtown by noon for the beginning of the Salisbury Bike partY festival. Until 4 p.m., a three-quarter-mile loop will be closed to traffic for cyclists’ enjoyment. The Wheelhouse bicycle donation hub will provide loaner bikes for those without them on a first-come, first-served basis.

 Other activities include local bike vendors and presentations from area bicycling organizations, a pop-up skate park provided by Get Ramped, a beginning rider skills course conducted by Bike-SBY, and food and beverages from Sobo’s on the Road and Headquarters Live. The Wheelhouse also will accept donations, including bicycles and bike parts, at the event.

Free bike valet parking will be offered. Free parking for motor vehicles is available at the Market Street parking garage.

The ride and party are cosponsored by the Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District, Evolution Craft Brewing Co., Shore Velocity, Ocean Velo Club, Eastern Shore International Mountain Biking Association, Bike-SBY, The Wheelhouse, Salisbury Cycle, TriCycle and Run and Pedal Works Cyclery.
