Pitch Across Maryland Bus Returns to Salisbury Monday, September 15
SALISBURY, MD---The Pitch Across Maryland Tour’s “Pitch Bus” returns to Salisbury from noon-2 p.m. Monday, September 15, at the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Business Center, 144 E. Main St.
SU’s Business, Economic and Community Outreach Network (BEACON), the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business and the Small Business and Technology Development Center at SU co-sponsors its third appearance in the area, along with the Salisbury Area Chamber, Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development, Maryland Capital Enterprises (MCE), Wicomico County, the Wicomico Public Library and the City of Salisbury.
Entrepreneurs may board the bus and record a three- to five-minute pitch about their idea or business in the vehicle’s mobile Upstart Show video studio. Videos will be uploaded to YouTube, where the public may view them and vote on their favorites. Winners receive mentorship and automatic bids into selected venture competitions. More than 150 made pitches last year.
During the bus’ stop in Salisbury, MCE will hold its annual Entrepreneur of the Year Award kickoff inside the chamber’s business center. Light refreshments will be available. The organization is seeking nominees for the award, to be presented during a banquet in November. For a nomination form, visit the MCE website at www.marylandcapital.org and click on the “entrepreneur” logo.
