Pianist Ingrid Marsoner Performs at SU April 2

Ingrid MarsonerSALISBURY, MD---Musicians from around the world come to the Delmarva Peninsula this spring as part of Salisbury University’s World Artist Experiences Ambassador Series.

Austrian pianist Ingrid Marsoner returns to perform at SU 7 p.m. Monday, April 2, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall. She initially performed as part of the Ambassador Series in 2005.

Marsoner grew up in Graz, Austria, and now resides in Vienna. She studied with Sebastian Benda and Rudolf Kehrer at the Universities of Music in Graz and Vienna. She has won first place awards at the Australian Federal Competition, the Steinway Competition, the Competition of “Jeunesses Muscales” in Vienna and the International Peninsula Music Festival in Los Angeles.

Marsoner has performed in Europe, the United States, Japan, Africa and South America at such venues as the Konzerthaus in Vienna and Merkin Hall in New York.

She has played chamber music with acclaimed musicians such as Ernst Kovacic, the Franz Schubert Quartet, Helmut Jasbar and Francois Benda. She has performed at festivals such as Styriarte, Wiener Festwochen, Wiener Musiksommer, and Carinthischer Sommer. She also has recorded music for radio, television and albums.
