'Maximizing Life's Options' Business Conference October 1-2

SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Center for Professional Development and Small Business Development Center (SBDC) present the women’s business conference “Maximizing Life’s Options” Friday-Saturday, October 1-2.

Keynote presenters include:

Charlotte Sterling, executive vice president for Marriott International Inc., who speaks on her “unintended journey” up the corporate ladder;

James Giles, Morgan Stanley financial advisor, who speaks on the book Smart Women Finish Rich; and

Marianne Frederick, a business speaker and humorist from South Carolina who travels nationwide to share key business concepts through humor.

"The steering committee structured the conference to maximize time for working women," said Terry Cohen, SBDC training coordinator. "Given that the conference is about maximizing life's options, which leads to work-life balance, it's appropriate that the conference minimizes time away from both work and family.”

The conference starts at 12:30 p.m. on Friday and concludes at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Cost is $95 and includes the speaker sessions, choice of workshops in two tracks, a business women's panel, exhibits and a networking session. Corporate sponsors include Peninsula Bank, Perdue Farms Inc. and M&T Bank.

The registration deadline is Thursday, September 23. To register and for more information call Jeri Hurley at 410-677-5404, or e-mail jehurley@salisbury.edu.
