Helgert Classical Guitar Concert Scheduled November 7

SALISBURY, MD---Lars Helgert performs classical guitar pieces 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 7, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall at Salisbury University.

A member of the SU Department of Music, Helgert received his Bachelor of Music in classical guitar performance from George Washington University and his Master of Music from Catholic University. He is pursuing a doctorate in music history at Catholic University while teaching classical guitar, guitar ensemble and ear training at SU. He appeared as a soloist with the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra, performing Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez. He has been featured on local cable television and in The Daily Times’ “Artist Spotlight.”

Works featured during the November 7 concert include Scalatti’s Sonata, K 208, Dowland’s Fantasia and Bach’s Prelude, Fugue and Allegro, BWV 998. Co-sponsored by the Music Department and Office of Cultural Affairs and Museum Programs, the recital is free and the public is cordially invited.
