Bellavance Honors Program Hosts Reading by Poet Karenne Wood November 16

Karenne WoodSALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Thomas E. Bellavance Honors Program hosts a reading by poet Karenne Wood 7 p.m. Monday, November 16, in the Worcester Room of the Commons.

Wood is the author of two poetry collections, Markings on Earth (2000) and Weaving the Boundary, due out next spring. Her poems have appeared in The Kenyon Review, Orion and Shenandoah.

The director of Virginia Indian programs at the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, Wood is a member of the Monacan Indian Nation. She has served as a researcher at the National Museum of the American Indian and as a repatriation specialist for the Association on American Indian Affairs. Earlier this year, she was honored as one of Virginia’s Women in History.
