Three Salisbury University professionals were recently selected to participate in Leadership Maryland Class of 2026 programs.
“Selection for this program is incredibly competitive, and these leaders stood out not just for what they’ve already achieved, but for their genuine commitment to shaping a better future for Maryland,” said David Fike ‘16 (LM), president and CEO of Leadership Maryland. “We can’t wait to see how they challenge each other and grow together to drive meaningful change across our state.”
Dr. Matt Laurent, dean of SU’s College of Health and Human Services, is among the 53-member Executive Program’s 33rd class.
Kate Bleile, public affairs coordinator, and Mary Buffington, Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative (ESRGC) project manager, are among the 32-member third cohort of the Emerging Leader Program.
The programs include sessions focused on Maryland’s five main geographic regions and the most vital issues impacting economic development, education, health and human services, criminal justice, the environment, and multiculturalism/diversity across the state. More than 100 experts representing Maryland’s business, government, education, and nonprofit communities will serve as panelists and guest speakers.
The curriculum offers a holistic approach to leadership development, designed to increase self-awareness and equip participants with the behaviors, skills, and tools to become more adaptive, inclusive, strategic, and impactful leaders.
Founded in 1992, Leadership Maryland is an independent, educational, non-profit organization designed to inform top-level executives, from the public and private sectors, about the critical issues, challenges and opportunities facing Maryland and its regions.
