SU Named to Princeton Review Honor Roll for Commitment to Student Mental Health

By SU Public Relations

SALISBURY, MD---When it comes to student mental health resources, Salisbury University is one of the top higher education institutions in the nation, according to a recent Princeton Review survey.

The publisher has named SU to its 2027 Mental Health Honor Roll, recognizing the top 76 universities in its 2026 Campus Mental Health Survey, conducted in partnership with the Ruderman Family Foundation, an internationally recognized organization that works to end the stigma associated with mental health.

Those making the list demonstrate “exceptional dedication and commitment to their students' mental health and well-being,” according to The Princeton Review.

“At Salisbury University, supporting our students’ mental health and well-being is an essential part of helping them thrive,” said SU President Carolyn Ringer Lepre. “We want every student to feel supported, connected and empowered to make the most of their college experience. This recognition from The Princeton Review reflects the dedication of our faculty and staff and the many ways we work to ensure students have access to the resources and support they need to succeed, both inside and outside the classroom.”

SU’s Mental Health Services Honor Roll profile spotlighted the services offered by the SU Counseling Center, including individual counseling, consultations, referrals, and walk-in urgent appointments. The center’s licensed, master’s-level clinicians provide crisis intervention, risk assessment, and campus outreach.

The profile also highlighted the University’s online services, including its voluntary mental health screening tool, and TimelyCare, a 24/7 virtual counseling option for mental health and crisis support, basic care assistance, self-care resources, and psychiatric services (with a referral).

Also of note were the support and referral roles incorporated into many of SU’s student development and academic success positions, including resident assistants, orientation leaders teaching assistants, faculty fellows, and student success mentors in a variety of programs. Regular events and meetings focused on stress relief, suicide prevention, and support for those experiencing identity-related stress or bias also were emphasized.

“We are honored to recognize Salisbury University for the many ways it prioritizes the mental health of SU students and its exceptional commitment to their well-being,” said Rob Franek Princeton Review editor-in-chief. “When it comes to student success in college, well-being is everything.”

Now in its third year, The Princeton Review’s Campus Mental Health Services Survey polled administrators at more than 700 campuses about their counseling, mental health, and wellness services. The publisher also surveyed more than 56,000 students across 300 campuses about awareness of their schools’ mental health services.

The Honor Roll inclusion is the latest in a series of accolades SU has received from The Princeton Review in recent months. The Publisher also has named the University a “Best Value College for 2027” and one of The Best 392 Colleges in the U.S.
