Student-Created Documentary to Air on Delmarva Public Media

SALISBURY, MD---Eleven senior environmental studies students at Salisbury University recently collaborated with Delmarva Public Media to produce an hour-long audio documentary, The Wicomico River: The Soul of Salisbury. It premieres noon Friday, May 26, on WSDL 90.7-FM and WESM 91.3-FM.

The students, from Dr. Michael Lewis’ senior seminar, tell the story of the river, its impacts on Salisbury and the surrounding area, and how it fits into the local ecosystem. They took on all roles for the project, including reporting, interviewing, editing and storytelling.

The semester-long initiative was funded through a Chesapeake Bay Trust Outreach and Restoration grant made possible through the financial support of the City of Salisbury.

Following its airing, the documentary will be available on-demand through the Delmarva Public Media website.
