SU Relay for Life Friday, April 21

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University hosts its 22nd Relay For Life event to benefit the American Cancer Society 6 p.m. Friday, April 21, at Maggs Physical Activities Center and Perdue Hall Lawn.

SU’s Relay is consistently among the top collegiate Relays in the nation, and organizers anticipate another highly successful event. Opening ceremonies begin at 6 p.m., featuring the national anthem and special guest speakers. The first lap – the survivor/caregiver lap – is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.

Special events throughout the night include a “pie a staff member” booth; special-themed laps such as pajamas, “Rock your Crocs” and glow laps; a team fashion show; dance party; and more.

More than $36,000 has been raised so far, with more expected through the evening of the event, which is scheduled to conclude at midnight. All proceeds benefit cancer research, education, patient services and advocacy programs.
