Campus Spirit Week Events Add Excitement to SU's Alumni Homecoming and Family Weekend

Food truckSALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University celebrates Alumni Homecoming Week, October 23-30, with a plethora of spirit events for the campus community.

One new activity, Spirit In The Square, features free treats from the University Dining Services food truck for current students, faculty and staff each day in The Square, between the Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons and Blackwell Hall.

Students, faculty and staff get to show off their creativity with school spirit with office door and residence hall door decorating contests throughout the week, while a Sammy the Sea Gull Scavenger Hunt invites them to engage in a little friendly competition.

Sunday, October 23

  • Noon-2 p.m., Seventh annual Student United Way Halloween Infested 5K Dash, Maggs Physical Activities Center – Register at 
  • Office door decorating competition begins - To enter, submit photos by email to

Monday, October 24

  • Sammy Scavenger Hunt – Check for a list of Sammy’s favorite places on campus, submit photos of each location for a chance to win
  • 10:30-11:30 a.m., Spirit In The Square – Muffin Monday - Stop by the food truck for a pumpkin muffin to kick off Homecoming Week! 
  • 5-9 p.m., FSL and RSO banner decorating, Wicomico Room – Pick up a banner from Guerrieri Student Union Room 133
  • 6 p.m., NAACP Pageant, Wicomico Room

Tuesday, October 25

  • 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Make and Take Gameday Essentials, Wicomico Room – Stop by and make your own gameday essentials, like stadium cushions and drawstring bags
  • 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Spirit In The Square – Stop by the food truck for nachos between classes.

Wednesday, October 26

  • 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Spirit In The Square - Hot Dog Bar - Enjoy a hot dog and all the fixings at the food truck!
  • 5 p.m., Mr. Zeta competition, Holloway Hall Auditorium
  • 7 p.m., Gulls Nest Comedy Show: Jacob Williams, Wicomico Room – Williams has appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, America’s Got Talent and Comedy Central

Thursday, October 27

  • 1-2 p.m., Spirit In The Square - Pretzel Day - Grab a pretzel and have a good time at the food truck!
  • 6-8 p.m., Culture Shock fashion show, The Square

Friday, October 28

  • Noon-4 p.m., Fall Fair in the Square - Fall treats, pumpkin painting, a zipline and more
  • 2-5 p.m., Gulltimate Frisbee, Holloway Hall Lawn
  • 7-9:30 p.m., Wild ’n’ Out, Wicomico Room

Saturday, October 29

  • 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Flock Party, East Campus
  • 7 p.m., National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Step Show, Holloway Hall Auditorium

Sunday, October 30

  • 2 p.m., SU Gospel Choir Homecoming Concert, Holloway Hall Auditorium
