SU Announces Fall Writers on the Shore Series

John Wenke 'The Critical List'SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s fall Writers on the Shore series begins with its annual Creative Writing Festival 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 15.

The event features readings from students in the Creative Writing Program, celebrating the new academic year. Presentations are 8 p.m. on select Wednesdays in the Perdue Hall Auditorium.

Upcoming authors in the series include:

October 6 – Dr. John Wenke: A professor of English at SU, Wenke twice won the University’s Distinguished Faculty Award. His recent work, The Critical List, is a collection of 12 short stories. He has published numerous scholarly essays, creative non-fiction essays, chapters and reviews. During his reading, copies of the book will be available for $15.95. October 20 – Dr. Kimberly Grey: The author of three books, including The Opposite of Light, which won the Lexi Rudnitsky First Book Prize, Grey has written works appearing in journals including New England Review, Kenyon Review and A Public Space

Sponsored by the English Department, admission is free and the public is invited.

All attendees at Salisbury University events are required to wear a mask while in the audience, regardless of vaccination status. Attendees may be asked to leave an event for non-compliance.

All attendees must complete an online COVID-19 screening on the day of their visit, prior to coming to the SU campus.
