Important COVID-19 Information for SU Employees

Dear SU faculty and staff,

As Salisbury University continues its COVID-19 precautions, please note the following:

  • Today marks the target date for all SU employees to receive their first COVID-19 vaccination to ensure they meet the University System of Maryland (USM) vaccination requirement to be fully vaccinated (both shots of a two-dose vaccine or a single shot of the one-dose vaccine, plus two weeks) by the beginning of the fall semester. Campus vaccination appointments may be scheduled by emailing CampusHealth@salisbury.edu.
  • For those still waiting to get vaccinated and those who have received an SU-issued exemption from the vaccination requirement, twice-weekly COVID-19 testing will be required to maintain access to SU buildings, classrooms, offices, Wi-Fi and Gull Card privileges beginning the week of July 12.
    • Twice-weekly testing will allow SU to join many state agencies in relaxing its face mask policy (see below).
    • Testing will take place each Tuesday and Thursday in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.
    • Schedule your tests at https://sutesting.timetap.com.
  • Beginning Monday, July 12, SU’s relaxed face mask policy will go into effect, allowing fully vaccinated campus community members access to SU buildings without a mask in most cases. Please see the updated SU face mask policy online for details and exemptions.
  • Dr. Michael Murphy, SU medical director, discusses the USM vaccination requirement, the safety and effectiveness of vaccines, where SU students and employees can get vaccinated, and requirements for those still waiting to get vaccinated in his latest video.
  • SU is monitoring the path of Hurricane Elsa. According to current forecasts, the Delmarva Peninsula may see minor to moderate impacts from the storm late this week. At this time, SU is expected to remain open. Please monitor the SU website and Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts for any additional announcements.

Please stay safe, and thank you for continuing to do your part to #ProtectTheFlock.
