Summer Carillon Concerts at SU

Guerrieri Academic CommonsSALISBURY, MD---Two renowned carillonneurs perform at Salisbury University in July. Concerts are 7 p.m. in Red Square.

    Liesbeth Janssens plays Thursday, July 11, on SU’s Brown and Church Carillon in the Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons. A graduate of the Music Conservatory of Leuven, Belgium and that country’s Royal Carillon School, she is joined by her daughter, Rosalie, for a rare four-handed performance.

    Gerald Martindale performs Monday, July 15. He is the carillonneur for the historic 54-bell carillon at Canada’s Metropolitan United Methodist Church of Toronto. The performance is part of his 2019 American concert tour.

    Sponsored by the Music, Theatre and Dance Department, admission is free and the public is invited. Concerts are rain or shine. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged.
