Creative Writing Festival Features SU's Christine Spillson

Christine SpillsonSALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University inaugurates its fall Writers on the Shore series with its annual Creative Writing Festival 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, in Perdue Hall Auditorium.

The event features readings by Christine Spillson of SU’s English Department and 10 creative writing students.

Spillson’s essays have appeared in journals including Boulevard, Portland Review, Diagram, The Rumpus and Redivider, and have been reprinted in Longreads. She recently earned her M.F.A. in nonfiction at George Mason University.

The featured student reader is Emma DePanise, winner of the 2018 Pablo Neruda Prize for Poetry. Her work has appeared in journals such as Potomac Review, Nimrod International Journal and Little Patuxent Review.
