Salisbury University (SU), a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Founded in 1925, SU is home to roughly 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students across our major schools and colleges.

Undergraduate courses typically require a master's degree in the discipline or a closely related field. Select industry certifications or deep clinical and work experience may be considered for specialized technical tracks. Graduate and professional programs require a terminal or doctorate-level degree.

Classes run morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend across Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer terms. Adjunct loads are strictly part-time, typically limited to a maximum of 8 credit hours per semester.

SU emphasizes competitive, low student-to-faculty ratios. While lecture limits vary with general education guidelines, specialized major courses average a close-knit group of students.

Pay scales depend on individual credentials, the tier of the course taught, and institutional guidelines set by the University System of Maryland.

All instructors parking on University property must purchase a permit. SU uses License Plate Recognition (LPR), so your registered plate serves as your physical permit.

$50 Adjunct Faculty Permit for instructors teaching 8 credit hours or less during the day · $45 Evening Only Permit. Pay through Parking Services' digital portal or via automated payroll deduction

Technical assistance: Classroom Technology Services handles hardware or software issues in teaching facilities.

Accommodations: Faculty work with the Office of Access & Accommodations to implement official Memorandums of Accommodation.

Safety & lockouts: The University Police non-emergency line covers locked classrooms and evening escorts to your vehicle.

Yes. Temporary adjunct pools are evaluated on immediate local demand. Standard tenure-track and permanent non-tenure-track positions are formally posted through the SU Workday Careers Portal.
