Anne Arundel Community College and Salisbury University are committed to helping students obtain a baccalaureate degree to advance their careers and earning potential. The goal of the agreement with AACC is to facilitate smooth transition into SU’s cooperating programs. However, rest assured that if you are not in a cooperating program, SU will work with you to help you meet your goals.

Our Programs

SU offers several programs in cooperation with AACC. However, other options are available to AACC students who wish to transfer to SU.

Art - Graphic Design

The aim is Salisbury University’s graphic design program is to build strong skills and assemble a professional portfolio of design work that shows your ability to solve a wide range of design problems.

At some schools, art and design have gone their separate ways, but not at SU. Graphic design is our most popular track within the major, but we believe the best graphic designers are those with interests outside of the Mac Lab, too. So, we require all our B.F.A. majors to take art electives in other areas of the department as well. We have heard repeatedly from visiting arts professionals that the sort of diverse creative problem-solving students experience in a program like ours makes them more effective artists and designers when they go out into the world.

AACC students who have completed the Associate of Arts in Visual Arts Transfer-Graphic and Web Design OR the Associate of Arts in Visual Arts Transfer-Studio Arts, with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher are granted admission to Salisbury University as a B.F.A. major in the Graphic Design Track. You must also complete AACC courses with a grade of C or better to receive credits for transfer.

Management

The management major prepares students with a blend of theory and applied skills for management or administrative positions. Management courses include such topics as human resources, information, international and small business management. Management students learn to set goals, formulate strategies, motivate people and monitor performance. Through the selection of electives, majors can focus on entrepreneurship and small business management, human resource management or production/operations.

What’s more, at SU, you can graduate with not just a management degree, but your very own business. SU is home to one of the oldest student entrepreneurship competitions in the country, and the University has a history of helping students implement their business plans and make their dreams a reality.

AACC students who have completed the Associate of Applied Science in entrepreneurship with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher are granted admission to Salisbury University as a B.S. in management major. All transferable classes must be completed with a grade of C or better.

Public Health

In our public health program, you will get real-world experience: You will practice under the guidance of professionals and have an opportunity to pursue a semester-long internship in such settings as hospitals, nonprofit organizations or government agencies. Following completion of the program, graduates are prepared to become effective health educations who promote and sustain health and wellness.

The program is aligned with the 7 Areas of Responsibility of a Health Education Specialist developed by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC). Upon completion of the program, students are eligible and prepared to become a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).

AACC students who complete the Associate of Science in Public Health Professions – Public Health Program with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher may seek admission into SU’s Bachelor of Science in public health program. All course credits applied toward satisfying SU’s public health major requirements earned with a C or better will be accepted for transfer.

Social Work

Our social work program prepares you for the real world with both hands-on classroom study and practical field experience. You have more opportunities to learn job skills with field experience at area social agencies. Our program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, a must for earning licensure.

AACC students can complete the associate degree in addictions counseling or human services to seek admission into SU’s Bachelor of Arts in social work program. You will be automatically granted admission to SU as a social work major as long as you have graduated AACCC with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.
