The Salisbury Youth Orchestra

The Salisbury Youth Orchestra has provided unique educational and performance opportunities for young musicians since 1989. Currently made up of 70 members ranging in age from 5th grade to college, the group is a full orchestra including strings, winds, brass, and percussion. The experience of playing in a full orchestra is not offered in area schools. The conductor is Dr. Jeffrey Schoyen, a Professor of Music at Salisbury University and the Artistic Director of Salisbury Symphony Orchestra. SYO is supported by SU which provides rehearsal and concert space and is also supported by a Parent’s Organization as well as by local teachers and volunteers. The group has weekly rehearsals and performs two concerts a year. For further information please contact Dr. Jeff Schoyen at 410-543-6381.
