Directors

Jennifer Brannock Cox (jbcox@salisbury.edu) is the director for the Salisbury University Media Literacy Institute. She is an associate professor in the Communication Arts Department at Salisbury University, teaching classes in multimedia journalism and mass communication. Her research includes studies and texts related to social media news messages, community, immersion and civic journalism.

Jeremy Cox (jgcox@salisbury.edu) is the co-director for the Salisbury University Media Literacy Institute. He is a staff writer with the Chesapeake Bay Journal, covering environmental issues in the Mid- Atlantic. Cox has 20 years of professional journalism experience, at newspapers throughout Florida and Maryland’s Eastern Shore. He is also an adjunct instructor of journalism and media writing at SU.

Aaron Wade Gurlly (awgurlly@salisbury.edu) is the co-director for the Salisbury University Media Literacy Institute. He is an assistant professor of media production in the Communication Arts Department at Salisbury University, teaching classes in mass media and in television/cinema production. His research focuses on identity, performance, and media representations of race, gender, and sexuality.
