Study Abroad - History Students

The History Department strongly encourages all students to acquire knowledge and develop skills through study abroad. They should work closely with their faculty advisor during program planning week and visit the Center for International Education (SUCIE) office to identify the international program that best fits their interests. Our students have traveled to the following countries: Scotland, South Korea, Greece, Ghana, Czech Republic, France, Italy, England & Wales Germany, Ecuador, and China.

SUCIE offers an approved list of 22 Salisbury Abroad semester programs to Salisbury University students. These programs are available fall and spring terms with courses integrated into many SU degree programs. Many fall and spring semester programs cost the equivalent to or even less than a semester at Salisbury. For our SU Exchange programs, you can carry all of your financial aid and scholarships! In addition, SU’s Fellowships Office can help you afford your study abroad.

Students may alternatively choose to participate in a study abroad program that is not officially approved by Salisbury University. These “Affiliate programs” can be applied to through the same SU online application. Within the “Advanced Search” feature students can locate many programs for History majors around the world - but you can take almost ANY history course and have it count toward your major. Students are responsible for paying tuition and fees directly to the affiliate, but SU financial aid may be transferred to the affiliate program with the assistance of SUCIE staff.

You can apply for any Study Abroad Program online at: www.salisbury.edu/explore-academics/study-abroad.aspx
