Two From SU Named to Maryland Student Legislature

SALISBURY, MD---Two Salisbury University students will work hand-in-hand to help lead the Maryland Student Legislature (MSL) in the next year.

During the MSL’s 18th annual legislative session, recently held in Annapolis, SU senior political science major Justin Ritter of Smyrna, DE, was named the organization’s lieutenant governor. SU junior political science major Shawn Jester of Salisbury was named comptroller.

They join five other students throughout the University System of Maryland on the executive board of the non-profit educational organization. Students involved with the MSL learn about the legislative process, including parliamentary procedure and drafting legislation. They also research, debate and write about national and local education issues.

SU junior history major Dustin Mills of Salisbury also earned accolades during the MSL’s 18th legislative session, earning the Most Outstanding Senator Award for the 2006-07 term.
