Terborg-Penn Keynotes SU's African-American History Events

SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Rosalyn Terborg-Penn of Morgan State University inaugurates African American History Month events at Salisbury University with the keynote lecture “The African Diaspora” 7 p.m. Thursday, February 10 in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center. Terborg-Penn is a history professor with a specialty in African-American women. She is the co-founder and first national director of the Association of Black Women Historians, and a history editor of Feminist Studies. She has written many works on African American women’s history including Women in Africa and the African Diaspora: A Reader and Black Women’s History at the Intersection of Knowledge and Power. Her book African-American Women in the Struggle for the Vote: 1850-1920 won the Letitia Woods Brown Memorial Book Prize. She also is senior editor for the second edition of Black Women in America: An Historical Encyclopedia and co-editor of The Columbia University Guide to African-American History Since 1939.
