'Sisters and Voices' Continues History Month Celebration

SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Office of Multiethnic Student Services celebrates African-American History Month with a performance of songs from gospel to rock 'n' roll by “Sisters and Voices” 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center.  The multimedia program, presented by Key Arts Productions, features a group of female performers who deliver the gospel songs of Mahalia Jackson, blues of Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday, rock 'n' roll of Tina Turner and the grooves of Chaka Khan and others as they explore African-American women’s contributions to the American musical landscape.  Admission is free and the public is invited.
