Salisbury Symphony Orchestra Performs at SU Dec. 9

SSOSALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury Symphony Orchestra celebrates the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth during Salisbury University’s “Four for the Season” winter music festival 8 p.m. Saturday, December 9, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.

Conducted by Dr. Jeffrey Schoyen, the SSO performs Mozart’s “Piano Concerto in G Major,” featuring guest soloist Ernest Barretta, a critically acclaimed pianist and winner of several musical honors who earned his doctorate from the Peabody Conservatory. Additionally, the SSO performs Sibeliius’ “Finlandia” and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2, “The Little Russian.”

Prior to the concert, the SSO Brass plays holiday favorites in the lobby. The orchestra also pays tribute to Fred Marino, retiring general manager of Public Radio Delmarva, for his longstanding support of classical music in the region.
