SU's Alpha Phi Omega Collects for Operation We Care Saturday, October 26

Operation we Care logoSALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s chapter of the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) national co-ed service fraternity is challenging the community to “fill a van” to support military troops serving overseas during the holidays.

From 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, October 26, APO members collect items at the North Salisbury Walmart for care packages sent to soldiers through the local non-profit organization Operation We Care. Needed items include canned pop-top pasta, granola bars, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal, microwave popcorn, toaster pastries, instant tea bags, and personal hygiene items including deodorant, shampoo, body wash and dental floss.

Collected items that day will be placed in an SU cargo van with the goal of filling the van for delivery to Operation We Care. Monetary donations also will be accepted to help offset the cost of postage.
