SU's APO Chapter Collects for Operation We Care

Alpha Phi Omega SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s chapter of the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) national co-ed service fraternity is challenging the community to support military troops serving overseas.

From 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, April 9, APO members collect items at Giant Food in Salisbury for care packages sent to soldiers through the local non-profit organization Operation We Care. A second collection takes place from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at Walmart in north Salisbury.

Needed items include canned pop-top pasta, granola bars, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal, microwave popcorn, toaster pastries, instant tea bags, and personal hygiene items including deodorant, shampoo, body wash and dental floss.

APO’s goal is to collect enough items to help fill care packages to be sent to troops in time for Memorial Day. The organization also will sell rubber ducks for $1 each to help offset the cost of postage.
