SU Relay For Life No. 1 in the United States Again

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Relay for Life continued its reign as one of the top college Relays in the nation this year.
SU earned awards of Outstanding College and Highest Money Percentage Increase in 2004. The grand total was $41,000, for an increase of 29 percent over 2003.
“Over the past three years Salisbury University has raised over $94,000 to battle cancer. This year our goal is to raise over $55,000,” said Jason Copley, co-chair of the event.
Last year, SU hosted 37 teams. In 2005, organizers are hoping for at least 50 teams this year.
“We want to increase participation on the campus and get the faculty, staff and students more involved,” said co-chair, Kimberly Bartlett.
A kickoff meeting for the 2005 event is 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, in the Ritual Room of the Scarborough Student Leadership Center. Anyone interested in helping with SU’s 2005 Relay is invited.
Teams of 8-15 people are needed as well as committee members to help plan the event. Faculty and staff are encouraged to participate.
