SU Music Students Visit Princeton

Eric Shuster and Dr. Jerry Tabor with SU Music StudentsSALISBURY, MD---Five Salisbury University music students recently traveled to New Jersey for a performance by the internationally renowned group So Percussion, the Edward T. Cone Performers in Residence at Princeton University.

Eric Shuster and Dr. Jerry Tabor of the SU Music Department accompanied the students. Shuster, who worked with So Percussion during the ensemble’s 2012 summer institute, organized the trip and introduced the students to the artists following the concert.

Tabor recently completed a new composition, 40-grit, dedicated to Shuster and the SU Percussion Ensemble. The work premiered at SU in April. He currently is teaching a course on composition for percussion quartet, the results of which are scheduled to be heard during this spring’s New Music Salisbury concert.
