SU High School Mathematics Competition Winners Announced

Mimi Sanford, Allison Wetherbee and Riley DeTar, with advisor Laurin Westerfield. SALISBURY, MD---Nineteen teams competed in the SU Mathematics and Computer Science Department’s 31st annual Eastern Shore High School Mathematics Competition on Thursday, November 6, sponsored by Delmarva Power.

The first place team from Saints Peter & Paul High School included (pictured, from left) Mimi Sanford, Allison Wetherbee and Riley DeTar, with advisor Laurin Westerfield. 

Michael LiNorth Caroline High School placed second. The team included Josh Becker, Hunter Geisel and Jada Taylor, with advisor Mike Miller.

Mardela High School placed third. The team included Andrea Cottingham, Matt Adams and Andrew Boltz with advisor Michael Matonak. 

Individual winners included Michael Li of James M. Bennett High School (pictured, first), Hunter Geisel of North Caroline (second) and Xiaofei “Bruce” Wei of The Gunston School (third).
